Who is a good candidate for a laser procedure?

Most patients pursuing laser skin resurfacing have trouble with crow’s feet, crumpling of the eyelid skin, laxity in the lower lids, brown spots, or troublesome scars of one kind or another, as well as overall wrinkling. Laser treatments are not for everyone. For this reason we will review your health history and treatment goals. We do have treatments that are available for all skin types so everyone is welcome.

What can I expect from my laser skin surfacing procedure?

If you are booking a laser appointment you will receive a consultation with a Nurse practitioner prior to your treatment. At that time the NP will review your health history and discuss your skincare goals and treatments available that will address your skin concerns.

Most laser treatments will not be painful, however some may be. We have topical anesthetic for the procedures that are uncomfortable and we will treat at your pace.

What is the science behind coolsculpting?

Years ago, two Harvard engineers discovered that fat tissue could be selectively targeted and frozen through a process called cryolipolysis. This process showed that surrounding skin cells, muscles and nerves were unharmed as the fat cells suffered from apoptosis, or cell death. Cryolipolysis was then modified for the cosmetic industry becoming CoolSculpting, a body contouring technique that has swept the nation and the world.

Is Botox a wrinkle filler?

No. BOTOX prevents the muscles from forming wrinkles in your skin. Facial fillers such as Juvederm or Radiesse can be gently injected inside the wrinkle area, filling in the wrinkle by plumping up the skin and making the wrinkle disappear.

Will I look funny or "frozen" after getting a Botox treatment?

Not at all! You’ll look like yourself—only with less noticeable frown lines and wrinkles. BOTOX® Cosmetic is a technique-sensitive treatment. You should not lose the ability to show expression when you are treated by someone who is licensed, trained, and a medical expert in facial anatomy.
