Las Vegas is a popular destination for bachelor and bachelorette parties, not just for Americans, but for people from all over the world.

Flights from far flung corners of Europe, Asia, and Australasia land at McCarran International Airport every day packed with women looking to celebrate the upcoming marriage of their friend in style and temporarily forget the stresses of planning the wedding.

So if you’re planning a bachelorette party in Las Vegas, here are six common ideas you can consider.

Las Vegas might be the casino capital of the world, but it’s also got some of the best shows in the world. Sin city has been resident to some of the world’s most famous performers for several decades, including Shania Twain, Barry Manilow, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and Rod Stewart.

It’s not just musicians either. Legendary magicians Penn & Teller perform several days a week at Caesars Palace with tickets starting at $84.30 each. You’ll be treated to their incredible sleight of hand and large-scale tricks which guests have described as “the most intelligent show in Vegas” and the “highlight of our trip”.

Other Las Vegas staples include the Blue Man Group, Cirque du Soleil, and Chippendales. The latter being a particular favourite among bachelorette parties, for pretty obvious reasons.

There are also other shows that are only in Vegas for a short time, so be sure to check the event listings of the resorts or the official Las Vegas website.

If you prefer to get your kicks from solving puzzles and riddles, then why not explore the Las Vegas strip while partaking in your own scavenger hunt.

The hunt can be included into the other activities, acting as a sort of side quest. Or it can be the premise of an entire day. You and your girls can put together your own list of tasks or download a list from the internet.

Some ideas you could include on your list are:

If you and your bachelorettes are thrill seekers, then why not check out some of the white-knuckle rides of Las Vegas? There are lots of options to choose from, including the Canyon Blaster roller coaster at Circus Circus and the Big Apple Coaster. However, your best option is likely The Strat.

Formerly known as the Stratosphere Tower, The Strat, is a casino and hotel resort with some of the best white-knuckle rides in the city. You can spot The Strat from most of the city thanks to its 1148 foot tower that’s more than double the height of the other hotels.

On top of the Strat you’ll find Big Shot. This is a vertical launch tower, similar to what you find at many theme parks, except you’re going to be launched much higher here since you’re already at the top of The Strat’s tower.

You’ll reach 45mph in mere seconds as you travel 160 feet into the air. Not only will your heart be in your mouth, but you’ll be enjoying some of the best views in the entire city.

Once you’re down from the Big Shot, your next white knuckle adventure is Insanity. This mechanical arm ride is also like many you’d find in theme parks, but with one twist.

Insanity is suspended 64 feet over the side of the tower, meaning you’ll be whisked around, 900 feet in the air, with nothing below your feet. You’ll also reach 3G as you do it.

X-Scream is The Strat’s roller coaster with a twist. As you sit in the car you’ll be propelled over the side of the tower, to be hung weightlessly over the edge. You’ll then be pulled back, before starting all over again.

On your way down from The Start, you can of course take the same elevator that got you up there. Or, you can strap yourself into Sky Jump and take a leap over the edge of the building. You’ll reach speeds of 40mph in a controlled free fall down the side of the tower.

A trip to Las Vegas isn’t the same without stopping at a casino. You and your bachelorettes may wish to start or end your night in one of the casinos, in addition to other activities on the list. Or, if you really love casino games then you could very easily spend all night there.

You will not be short on options. The entire city has grown out of its casino industry, with some of the biggest landmarks being giant casino resorts. Many hotels in the city have their own casino, but you can also visit one of the others.

You can choose from any of the many casinos in Las Vegas, with most of them offering the same mix of slot machines, table games, and card games.

If you want to show off in front of your bachelorettes, consider learning the rules to a game like blackjack or poker before you go so you can appear like a pro when you get there.

For example in poker, you’ll need to understand the different hands and their respective values, as well as the differences in rules across the variations of the game. You could even play online a little before you go, to get some practice.

Travel around the city in style. Hire a limo for you and your bachelorettes to cruise down the strip in. You’ll enjoy the heights of luxury, with plenty of opportunities to snap some pictures and take full advantage of the on-board bar.

#2 Try a Scavenger Hunt
